Frequently Asked Questions
Soak is made in Canada, and my shop is in the US. Do I have to pay duty?
Nope. Soak is made in Canada under USMCA regulations, so it comes into the US without any duties or additional fees. All US orders ship FOB from Buffalo, NY.
Will Soak leak in transit?
Nope. All Soak bottles have induction seals to prevent leaking. On rare occasions stuff happens with rough handling that can occur during shipping. If you do experience any leaks in your orders, please get in touch.
What happens if Soak freezes?
Nothing bad. Freezing and thawing doesn’t affect the formulation at all. Just let it thaw at room temperature, give it a good shake, and you’re good to go. If you notice any induction seals that have popped, please get in touch.
What’s your minimum opening order?
$250 before shipping.
What’s your minimum re-order amount?
$100 before shipping.
Do you have any photos of the bottles?
Oh yes, we have lots and we’re happy to share with our resellers! Once you’ve set up your Soak account, you’ll have access to Insider Information (exclusive to Soak retailers!), which has all kinds of great sales and marketing resources including product and editorial photos of all the Soakworthy® products we sell.
Does Soak advertise and appear in the media?
We do! We mostly focus on trade and consumer magazines in the knitting, quilting and lingerie markets. We also get editorial coverage in laundry care editorials (Wirecutter has named Soak the Best Detergent for Hand-Washing Clothes for several years running), and in major knitting, quilting, sewing, weaving, spinning and craft publications.
Soak has also been featured in mainstream media–including Living, Real Simple, The Strategiest, to name a few. Want to check out all of our awesome mentions and awards? Visit our media page.
Who should I contact for samples/contests/giveaways/promotions?
Get in touch with your rep or email Tanja at Soak Head Office.
Are the fragrances natural?
We all want to use products that are good for us and the planet. But the term “natural” is so misused in marketing that we actually avoid it on purpose. Honestly, we’d rather just give you the facts about Soak so you can decide if it's right for you.
Often, when people ask if a fragrance is natural, they want to know if we use essential oils to achieve it. And we don’t. Soak ingredients are plant-based, and we use synthetic, hypo-allergenic fragrances to create our signature scents. We do that because essential oils can be problematic for people with allergies. And we also carry a Scentless version of all of our products for customers who want zero fragrance.
Is Soak distributed internationally?
Yes it is – through our network of top-notch partners. To find the distributor in your country, check out our Wholesale Contacts page. If you want to become an international distribution partner, fill out our Distribution Partner Application. We'd love to hear from you – we’re always looking to expand Soak’s reach around the globe.
